Kathryn Barnes Memorial Lecture

The Barnes lecture endowment was first established in 1967 by a collective of generous donors organized by the Newberry Library of Chicago. The endowment was donated in honor of Kathryn Barnes, trained in botany at the University of Chicago, who passed away in 1966. Distinguished speakers are generally drawn from the botanical sciences in memory of Kathryn Barnes.
