Congratulations to Dr. Cathy Pfister for receiving the BSD’s Francis Straus Mentorship Award. This award honors the memory of Dr. Francis Strauss II as a mentor of students, residents, and fellows, and it is given to faculty members who have had a longstanding impact on their students and fellows. Dr. Pfister will receive her award in June at the BSD Distinguished Faculty Awards Ceremony.
Congratulations to Dr. Stefano Allesina for receiving the BSD’s Distinguished Investigator Award. The award recognizes highly talented members of the BSD faculty for research excellence. This is the third year in a row that someone in E&E has received this honor, with Dr. Marcus Kronforst winning the junior investigator award in 2016 and Dr. Joy Bergelson winning the senior investigator award in 2017.
