Dr. Lauren Carley to Join E&E Faculty

Graduate candidates interested in plant evolutionary ecology invited to apply

Dr. Lauren Carley will be joining the Department of Ecology and Evolution in the fall of 2024 as an assistant professor. She will be starting her own lab and is now recruiting graduate students and a postdoctoral researcher.

Dr. Carley is a plant evolutionary ecologist interested in how species-environment interactions drive patterns of biodiversity across scales, from alleles and genes to species and communities. At the University of Chicago, she is excited to advise motivated PhD students and postdocs with interests in plant evolutionary ecology, adaptation, species interactions, and/or chemical ecology. Interested candidates are invited to email her (lcarley@umn.edu) with a copy of their CV and a brief introduction describing their research interests and goals. Visit Dr. Carley’s website to learn more about her background and research.

Dr. Carley is currently able to admit graduate students through the Ecology & Evolution graduate program. More information about graduate student admissions can be found here.

Funding is available to support a postdoctoral researcher, and she is also happy to collaborate on fellowship applications to support independent postdoctoral research.

We look forward to welcoming Dr. Carley to the E&E faculty!
