Misha Blizard completed her dissertation under the guidance of Dr. Steve Pruett-Jones. Misha’s work was titled "Dynamics of polyandry in spotted sandpipers (Actitis macularius): Ornamentation, reproductive success, and testosterone” and describes the mating behaviors and phenotypic traits of spotted sandpipers in Michigan.
Molly Gallagher completed her dissertation in Dr. Greg Dwyer’s lab. Molly’s dissertation, titled “Combining High-Performance Computing and Ecological Field Experiments to Understand Insect Outbreaks”, used empirical and theoretical methods to document outbreaks of the jack pine budworm and its host trees.
Pengyao Jiang finished her dissertation in Dr. John Reinitz’s lab. Pengyao’s dissertation was titled "Experimental and Computational Analysis of Canalization and its Relation to Evolution and Development” and used empirical and theoretical techniques to elucidate the evolution of canalization in Drosophila development.
Liz Sander completed her dissertation research under the guidance of Dr. Stefano Allesina and Dr. Tim Wootton. Liz’s dissertation was titled "Computational Approaches to Characterizing the Tatoosh Middle Intertidal Community” and describes how she used machine learning and other computational techniques to explore the structure and dynamics of a complex intertidal community in Washington.
